“Growing up in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains of NSW I’ve always enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle and everything that goes with it.
Married to my amazing wife Jo and raising three beautiful daughters together I spent seven years with the NSW Fire Brigade as a retained firefighter.
With my Great Grandfather serving as a Tunneller during World War One and a Great Uncle with the 1st Light Horse Regiment I’ve always had a passion for our military history, that passion has led to my travelling the world exploring the battlefields where Australians have fought and sadly died, these include – The Western Front in France and Belgium, Gallipoli, Singapore and of course Kokoda (my first Kokoda trip leaving such an impression that 10 months later I was back.)
To be offered the opportunity to trek Kokoda and share the story of what happened there and also the stories of those who served there is extremely humbling, to experience it with those of you who have decided to undertake the trek and also the beautiful people of Papua New Guinea is a privilege, it’s what keeps drawing myself back”.
